Join us as we honor our fallen heroes at CrossFit Fulshear

On Memorial Day, May 27 at 9 AM we will be honoring our fallen heroes at CrossFit Fulshear.  This workout is open to everyone.

PLEASE JOIN US!

Also, you are welcome to donate $5-$10 to Outdoor Association for True Heroes, Incorporated, or OATH, Inc. (www.oathic.org), which is a faith-based non-profit organization that utilizes various outdoors activities centered around Faith, Family, and Community to improve the quality of life of our eligible Veterans.

Gary J. Bartels, Jr., Founder & Executive Director, of OATH, Inc (his picture as shown below), will be walking 152.5 miles in five days.  Mr. Bartels will walk the distance of one standard track lap (400 meters) for every Hero from the state of Texas that has made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Our mighty state has lost 608 brave souls (to date), so Gary will be knocking out 152 miles over the course of five days. Gary will start walking from a point in or around Dayton, TX on Tuesday, 22 MAY 2018 at 6:00pm, and will aim to finish on Sunday, 27 MAY 2018 at 12:00pm, at Rooster’s Bar in Dayton, TX.

Here are some of our activities on Monday, May 27:

  • Dr. Goehry from Airrosti will be there to help athletes get prepared. He will be taping athletes starting at 8:30 AM. Dr. Goehry will also be available afterward to help you recover, if you need it.
  • Main Squeeze Juice Co. will have a truck delivering fresh juice with a portion of the proceeds supporting OATH, Inc.
  • Bar-B-Q from Dozier’s

Our workout of the day will be CrossFit, Inc.’s “Murph”:

For time:

1 mile Run

100 Pull-ups

200 Push-ups

300 Squats

1 mile Run

In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.  This workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he’d named it “Body Armor”. From here on it will be referred to as “Murph” in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you’ve got a 20-lbs vest or body armor, wear it.

All movements can be scaled to your ability.  Ring rows can replace pull-ups, and push-ups and squats can be done to a box at an appropriate height to make the work possible.

Come out and support our Troops!
